Actually I wanted to write a full review of Jaane Tu since it had created so much hype of 'being realistic' and having fresh new talents. I'll accept the second. But I'd be foolhardy if I said it was realistic. It was hardly that.

So what went wrong? Well the film maker (Abbas Tyrewala) himself gives the answer. In the scene where Genelia expresses her intention of going to the US to study film making, Imran's mother encourages her by saying that there is a lack of, and hence a need for, intelligent movies in India sans the formulaic hero-heroine-song-dance-villain-fight script (again, bollywood shows its arrogance by assuming it alone makes up the whole lot of 'indian' movies. How very wrong.) I don't know if Abbas was trying to separate himself from the mass of 'other' film makers. Rather, I think he fell into his own trap and literally accused himself.

Rahman's lacklustre attempt didn't help matters either. One would have expected a peppy score for such a movie. The only saving grace was Imran who I thought carried himself very maturely throughout. In short, don't waste two of your precious hours watching this. I wish I hadn't. :-(

P.S: Was it just me or did Genelia mouth 'What the f***?!' on entering her brother's room??!!

Some derogatory comments were issued against the template that i used to have for this blog. So, in my quest for a corrective action (that lasted approximately 4 minutes), i ended up with the template in front of your eyes which i quite liked actually, although personally i don't give a damn about templates.

Post Edit: i've come to realise within a couple of seconds that looks do matter and that those insulting remarks were of good measure. Thank you very much for the contributors. And also, cheers are due to these guys.

Hello. I am not one of those people who know how to start their blog with a brilliant post. So i am off right away...

A couple of days back i happened to see a BBC Horizon programme on how isolation could affect humans and their behaviour. It was quite nice the way they made the programme but some parts seemed like they were acted out. But who cares, right? Anyway, all that it said was the drastic effects the sensory deprivation of a confined environment could have on humans. This, owing to the fact that humans are by nature, more curious. (Yes, more than the capuchins and the generic cat)

See what deprivation could have caused this man by the name of Rajesh Bidkar to file a petition in court alleging 'deliberate' dishonour of the national flag by Sachin Tendulkar. Oh yeah, Sachin, of all. This seemed to have happened in the last WC in WI when Sachin cut a cake with an icing in the colours and design of the national flag. I remember reading some days ago a similar case with Sania Mirza as the victim.

I mean, don't these people have any other job than wasting the time of our courts by filing frivolous cases? I know that the flag means a lot. But this? Thoo! I can't find any ulterior motives for Rajesh's action either. May be, he has nothing else to do at home. Like me. No wonder the red planet was too salty for life to have developed there.
